Why photography?

So, a friend of mine was floating through my website looking to see if I'd posted anything new.  She noticed that my blog page was empty and asked why.  The honest answer?  I'm not sure I've got a stream of things worthy of anyone's ongoing interest.

With that in mind, I'll steal someone else's thought for the moment because it seems like a good first post.

I met Bryan Hansel, a north shore photographer, at a class/seminar he held last spring.  He posted the following on Facebook.  It speaks to me perfectly.

"I ran across this quote from Galen Rowell. He succinctly sums up what photography means ...

'All photographers have something in common. When they take pictures they’re trying to answer that question ‘Who am I?’ You want to say, this is who I am by these photographs that are individual. You want to say, this is what I saw.'"

Yup.
